Details: Pursuant to Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, C.G.S. Chapter 14 § 1-200, et seq., the National Student Legal Defense Network (“Student Defense”) makes the following request for the production of records.
Requested Records
Student Defense requests that the University of Connecticut produce the following records:
1.
Documents constituting internal policies or guidelines within, for, or governing the Office of Undergraduate Admissions regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by that office, including its employees, with respect to admissions, recruitment, and financial aid.

Documents constituting or reflecting instructions or training provided to staff in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) by that office, including its employees, with respect to admissions, recruitment, and financial aid.
For purposes of this request, the phrase “admissions, recruitment, and financial aid processes” means the following activities:

The evaluation, scoring, ranking, or selection of applicants for admission or enrollment;

Reviewing application materials, including essays, recommendation letters, transcripts, videos, standardized test scores, and any other materials submitted by an applicant;

Evaluating, scoring, ranking, or selecting applicants for admission;

Identifying, targeting, or communicating with prospective applicants;

Developing outreach or advertising to recruit prospective students, including through emails, text messages, or other marketing materials;

Assessing applicant characteristics, including likelihood of admission, enrollment, retention, or financial need;

Determining or calculating financial aid awards or scholarships;

Detecting fraud or plagiarism in applications.
Student Defense seeks all responsive records regardless of format, medium, or physical characteristics, and includes any attachments to these records.
Student Defense insists that your office use the most up-to-date technologies to search for responsive information and take steps to ensure that the most complete repositories of information are searched.
