Details: Under the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act § 1-200 et seq., I am requesting:
● Electronic copies of the University of Connecticut’s faculty conflict of interest disclosures (https://policy.uconn.edu/2011/05/24/financial-conflicts-of-interest-in-research/) collected through the UConn InfoEd External Interests system (https://login.uconn.edu/cas/login?service=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.infoed.uconn.edu/login.asp) including all filings from University of employees on: consulting activities and other compensated activity, service on outside boards, uncompensated outside activity, significant interest in business activities, gifts, and intellectual property/royalties/copyright. Please include all filings made in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 to date.
If there are any fees for searching or copying these records, please inform me if the cost will exceed $10. However, I would also like to request a waiver of all fees in that the disclosure of the requested information is in the public interest and will contribute significantly to the public’s understanding of the potential conflicts of interest of state employees and affiliated researchers.
The release of the information is for non-commercial purposes. I am a New York University researcher working with ProPublica. ProPublica is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit news organizations ation based in New York City, whose mission is journalism in the public interest. This request is for newsgathering purposes. I, or my colleagues at ProPublica, Annie Waldman and David Armstrong, will use the records to inform the public through our reporting. I therefore request a waiver of all fees and charges pursuant to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act.
