Pursuant to Connecticut's Public Records Act / Freedom of Information Act, I kindly request copies of basketball guarantee game contracts held by the University of Connecticut and/or its Athletic Department.
REQUESTED RECORDS
Executed basketball guarantee game contracts (and any amendments or addenda) between the 2000 and 2025 seasons. Guarantee games (also called "buy games" or "money games") are regular-season, non-conference games in which the University of Connecticut paid a guarantee or appearance fee to a visiting opponent to play a single game at the University of Connecticut's home court (usually early in the season).
This request EXCLUDES:
• Conference games;
• National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament (March Madness) games;
• Home-and-home series contracts.
TIME PERIOD
Basketball seasons 2000 through 2025. If records are not retained for the full period, please provide responsive records from the earliest available year forward and indicate the applicable retention period.
PURPOSE AND FEE STATEMENT
This request is made for non-commercial academic research purposes. I am willing to pay reasonable fees. To the extent your jurisdiction permits fee waivers or reductions for non-commercial academic research, I respectfully request such a waiver be applied.
