Request Date End: 04/30/2025

Details: To Whom It May Concern,

Pursuant to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act (Conn. Gen. Stat. §§ 1-200 et seq.), I am requesting access to public records related to University of Connecticut expenditures on student housing and executive compensation for the fiscal years 2021 through 2025 (inclusive).

Specifically, I am requesting the following records:

A detailed, itemized breakdown of all expenditures related to:

Construction, renovation, or maintenance of student housing facilities

Temporary or overflow housing solutions, including any third-party housing contracts

Any internal or external housing feasibility studies, reports, or planning documents

Current and historical (2021–2025) on-campus housing capacity compared to total student enrollment by year.

A full listing of total compensation—including salaries, bonuses, deferred compensation, retirement contributions, and non-cash benefits—for the ten highest-paid UConn administrators over the same period.

Copies of internal communications (emails, memos, or Teams messages) between members of the President’s Office, Housing Services, or Facilities Management that reference:

Housing shortages or student waitlists

Overflow housing or denial of dormitory access due to capacity limits

Budget prioritization decisions relating to student housing

Please provide the records in electronic format. If any portion of this request is denied or redacted, I request that you provide the statutory basis for the denial and inform me of the appeal procedures available under Connecticut law.

As this request pertains to the public interest—namely, the transparency of housing allocation and institutional resource distribution at a public university—I respectfully request that any associated fees be waived.

Thank you for your time and compliance with state law. I look forward to your response within the statutory timeframe.
