I am a student from Wayne State University. I am conducting research in the public interest to study universities’ contracts with food service contractors or providers and would like your assistance obtaining documents. Under the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act § 1-200 et seq. We request copies of the following:
Copies of any contracts or agreements, and all amendments, addendums, appendices, and exhibits thereto, signed and/or active as of July 1, 2023, between [University] and food service contractors or providers (e.g., Sodexo, Aramark, Chartwells) that oversee meal plan, dining hall, restaurant, quick-service, or fast-food operations. This includes any campus-wide, unit-specific, or auxiliary enterprise organization contracts/agreements.
The request or requests for proposals (RFPs) that immediately preceded and led to the contracts described above.
All proposals and accompanying materials submitted in response to the RFPs described above.
All reports, presentations, and meeting notes about the contracts described above.
All internal memos, emails, or other documents concerning the parties’ course of performance or modification of their obligations under the contracts described above.
If this request is denied in whole or in part, please state in writing the specific statutory exemption upon which you have relied (as required by law) and notify me of the appeal procedures available to me under the law.
Please waive any costs associated with this request, or first inform me prior to taking any action that would incur costs. Our research team does not seek the records for commercial purposes.
Please respond in a timely manner upon your receipt of this letter, as required by Connecticut Freedom of Information Act § 1-200 et seq., If other requested documents will take longer to produce, please send the documents in request (1) first, rather than waiting to produce all requested documents at one time.
