Under the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act § 1-200 et seq., I am requesting an opportunity to inspect or obtain copies of all emails sent by President Radenka Maric, Associate Vice President Kimberly Fearney, Associate Vice President Michael Kirk, Associate Vice President Hans Rhynhart, and Chief of Police Gene Labonte On April 24th, April 25th or April 26th of 2024, especially emails sent between two of the five names listed, and especially emails including the words "protest," "police," "arrest," "encampment," "tent," "disrupt," and "Israel".

I would also like to request a waiver of all fees in that the disclosure of the requested information is in the public interest and will contribute significantly to the public’s understanding of housing conditions in our city, as part of a journalistic enterprise for the public good. This information is not being sought for commercial purposes.

I prefer electronic distribution of the requested items. Any denial (in part or whole) should conform to Sec. 1-206 or subsections b) and c) of section 1-214. I am requesting all documents, correspondence, invoices, expense authorizations, reports, and any other files related to a policy that bans or regulates the use, presence, size, or location of tents on the Storrs campus. As part of this request, I would like to see all communication between the UConn President’s Office and the UConn Police Department about tents and camping. I would like to know if there was an existing or recently adopted policy about tents on campus. Thank you for your kind attention to this request.
